The Badminton Cabinet is an ornate set of drawers of baroque, which was manufactured in the 18^th century for the Duke of Beaufort in the workshops of Pietra-Dura in Florence. It is the most known and expensive furniture  in the wold. This wordrobe is now in Vienna in Liechtenstein museum.

It is about 4 m hight, 2,3 m wide and is made of  ebony with gilt branze.  In its inly, pictures of birds and flowers are presented. They contain red and green sicilian jasper, amethyst and quartz. The cabinet is crowned with figures, a clock and arms.

The third Duke of Beaufort, Henry Somerset ordred this lavish piece of furniture on his trip to Italy in 1726. It was  completed in 1732. Until 1990, it was owned by the Duke family before it was sold in Amerika for 14 years. In 2004, it was bought  in London at Christi´s for 17 million pounds ( 24,6 million euros ) plus premium by the Prince Hans Adam for Lieschtenstein.

As above mentioned, the furniture is manufactured of different substances, but most of furniture articles are made  from wood. The Öko Tex 100 seal

It consernes the verification of the pollutants. The international catalog of inspection according to Öko-tex 100 is based on scientific sound parametrs and it is adapted to the latest state of  the legislation and the scientific researches.

The catalog of criteria indicates:

Legal  forbiden substances like cancinogen artificial colourings, parameters as colour fastness and pH-walue kind to the skin, which are important for the healthcare of the consumers. There are seroius conditions according to the curent state of the knowlidge. However, not legally regulated or forbiden substances as pesticide, allergizing artificial colour or organotin as well as legal regulated mateial as formaldehyde, softening agent, heavy metals or pentachlorphenol. 

Cleaning:

The best way to clean the furniture; it´s only to dust it with a dust cloth. When it gets splash, then it is necessary to wipe it with a damp cloth. Water damage the wood and make it swollen.

There are special cleaning agents to clean the wood, which let the wood keep its form and colour. It is better to use furniture polish but it is necessary to pay attention, that this products are suitable to the furniture you have. The tabletops are different to the other furniture, it is possible to be cleaned with water depending to its type of wood.
